Setting your language

Language can be set at the Recording or Project level in Reduct. You can modify the language setting in a few ways.

(1) Before uploading media to a recording, you can modify the language for the specific recording, as well as choose to modify the language for the whole project by selecting the checkbox underneath.

The language setting will apply going forward to any new media that is uploaded or imported into this recording or project.

(2) You can also select the language when creating a project. The selection you make at project creation will affect all recordings uploaded to this project. You can change this at any time by navigating to the project's transcription settings on the Project listing page:

The language setting applies to the entire project.

If you're working with multiple media in different languages and want to keep them in the same project, we recommend modifying the the language setting before each upload. You could also choose "Multiple Languages (Auto-Detect)" for your language, and we will identify the language spoken in each recording. Language auto-detection is not 100% accurate - if incorrectly labeled, please change the language after transcription.

Changing the language after transcription

If your recording got transcribed in the wrong language, you can re-transcribe it in another language. Expand the media and attachment file area, click on the three dots next to the media file that got transcribed in the wrong language, and click on "Change Language"

Translation, and multi-language captions
