1. Accessing the timeline view

You can access this feature by clicking the three vertical dots (⋮) next to the "New Recording" button, then selecting View timeline.

You will then either see a timeline of events, or see "0 files with timing metadata," as well as a follow-up notice regarding the number of files without timing metadata. Click "Fix" to add timing annotations for each file in your project.

Fixing the timing metadata:

Once you click on the "Fix" button, you will be taken to a window where you can type in date and time information for each of your footage.

💡 Pro tip: Click Show Image option to reveal the first frame of the footage. This allows you to type in the date and time shown in the frame itself. Also, make sure you select the correct timezone.

Editing the timing in the Timeline view:

If you've already added the timing metadata for a video but want to make changes, you can do so by clicking the pencil icon next to the video's timestamp in the timeline. This will take you to a window where you can edit the date and time information for each footage.

2. Viewing multi-cam footage side-by-side

The timeline shows "events" with overlapping video footage, one after the other. For any of these events, if you click "View synced video," you will be able to see side-by-side video of every video file in parallel.

Note:

If the videos in the timeline aren't aligned, you'll see a suggestion to align them. Just hit the "Adjust" button, and the videos will be aligned for you.

3. Working with the Multicam view in Reduct

Multicam view allows you to review footage from different angles simultaneously. You can jump to specific moments by clicking on a word in the transcript, which will take you to that moment across all files and angles.

You will hear the audio from the video you hit play on, while all other videos will continue playing in sync.
